Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist at Patientco you’ll be responsible for extracting insightful analytics from the millions of patient transactions we handle each year. Reporting to the VP, Product and Engineering, you will develop and deliver complex modeling and drive innovative and effective approaches for customers.  

You will turn raw data (from multiple databases, flat-files, monitoring and analytics tools, various logs, etc.) into predictive behavior models that will be used in our platform to communicate with patients and to help us make key business decisions. You will also be responsible for building business performance models that are used by engineering in visual dashboards that give our clients powerful analytical tools.  

You will work most closely with our Product and Engineering teams, but team with all departments, including Sales/Marketing, Client Success, Operations, and Finance to ensure we are capturing the most business and customer needs.

  • You have strong knowledge of statistics and experimental design
  • You have a passion to make healthcare easier and more accessible for everyone
  • You enjoy creating clarity from ambiguity
  • You have experience leading cross-functional teams
  • You can leverage business intelligence platforms to communicate your insights to internal and external users. We use MicroStrategy at Patientco. Other similar tools include Tableau, Looker or Birst
  • You can leverage analytics to solve critical problems faced by our customers
  • You have the interest and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies on the job
  • You want to build models from scratch, test them and use that information to continue to drive new ideas for the business

SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • You have an advanced degree (M.S., PhD.), preferably in Statistics, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Economics, or a related technical field
  • You can demonstrate a consistent track record of performing data analysis using Python, R, and SQL
  • You have 7+ years industry experience in data-science or analytics
  • Experience within the Healthcare industry a plus
  • You have very strong business acumen with commercial thinking in additional to deep data skills
  • You have experience with Agile development
  • You have the ability to clearly communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences
  • You have a deep understanding of data approaches, industry standards and best practices
  • You’ve built a commercial analytics or business intelligence platform with real-world usage
