As the Senior Accountant, you will be an integral part of the team working directly to reconcile account balances and preparing month end close.  You should have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and a love of analytical thinking and collaborating across the business.   Does that sound like you? Read on!

 

KEY SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • 4+ years of overall accounting experience in a corporate environment
  • A CPA or CMA
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstration of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and journal entry
  • Experience creating and driving the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Superior Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to think analytically
  • Detail orientation to ensure core reconciliation procedures are completed accurately and timely
  • Propensity for process documentation and upkeep
  • Ability to work highly independently with various departmental stakeholders
  •  Ability to self-manage tasks, selection of priorities, and workflow

SAMPLING OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Perform the day to day accounting needs of the company, including accounts payable and receivable, Quickbooks Online management, and finance operations activities related to the business
  • Support the month end close process, working with the VP, Finance to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information and preparation of financial statements
  • Produce accurate client invoices monthly
  • Calculate and analyze sales and partner commissions
  • Lead annual tax needs such as preparation of 1099-MISC’s and 1099-K’s, financial audits, local, state and federal tax filings and similar
  • Complete customer and vendor analysis, with emphasis of understanding and controlling costs and customer margin
  • Assist Director, Finance in payroll management and benefits administration
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Additional accounting duties as necessary
